Comparison between UCTs and CCTs
Here is an interesting article about uncoditional cash transfers (UCTs). It is being compared against conditional cash transfers (CCTs).
I think it too early to conclusively state the impacts of UCTs given their recent adaptations into the development model. I also think that this article is too simplistic on its choice on what works, the article has not addressed the possibility of an equally good program that merges these two transfers together because cultures of people differ. People do have different preferences and only two models CANNOT alleviate them from poverty given their different environments and resource constraints. He has not addressed the conflicts of interest of the actors involved in giving these transfers from the supply side. This does have economic and certainly political implications which he ignored. I would like to give a little praise to this writing but for now I will not.
